Not Today, Phone is preparing for its initial App Store release. The guidance below describes the launch experience.

Set up protection

Use an iPhone running iOS 26.5 or later.
Complete onboarding and allow Screen Time access.
Select individual apps in Apple’s picker and save your selection.
Open a protected app and choose Open Not Today, Phone, or open Not Today, Phone from your Home Screen and select the app there.

How a five-minute pass works

Watch the offered ad to completion and spend 60 active seconds total in Not Today, Phone, including the ad. Continue after the ad, complete any remaining wait, and start your pass. Leaving Not Today, Phone pauses the wait. The five minutes start when the pass activates; after the pass ends, the app is protected again.

You never have to tap an ad or install an advertised app. Closing an ad early does not earn a pass. You can choose Never mind instead.

An ad will not load

Check your internet connection and try again. A failed ad does not grant access. If Not Today, Phone offers a 60-second pause instead, follow the displayed timer. If you already completed the ad or pause but activation failed, retry your saved pass without repeating it.

Change or stop protection

Open Settings in Not Today, Phone to manage your apps or turn protection off. If Screen Time permission was revoked, use the permission flow to restore it. Protection depends on that authorization.

Reports, reminders, and history

Progress shows Screen Time reports and your recorded choices. Settings lets you manage optional reminders and clear choice history. Clearing history removes local choice records; active and saved passes remain. It does not delete analytics already sent.
